We've arrived.

The trip out here was super long but painless- and this little guy was a trooper!!! 11.5 hours trapped in that carrier and slept most of both flights and never made a peep. But was definitely ready to get out.

Once we arrived in Baltimore and checked in to our hotel "home", we headed to the city to be welcomed to Baltimore from some of our friends. The food was themed and some very needed gifts to get around the Baltimore area...since toll roads are definitely new to me.

Whit immediately had to leave for New Orleans so I spent the next week learning where I was and waiting for our stuff to arrive. Here you'll see our place empty before anything got here...

Our stuff ended up taking about 9 days to get here and we were definitely ready to get out of the hotel. We spent a few days trying to make sense of all the boxes and learning where things were.

But of course, Whit had to get the pantry organized first and foremost. I'll have to say there are definitely some perks to his job :)

Next the cars arrived...they took 13 days to get here. And the driver said he went through 3 snow storms...as you can tell by the look of the car.

Shortly after, Whit's mom, Susan, came to help. To say she was a huge help would be an understatement. I couldn't have done it so fast without her help. And especially her expertise in where things should go in the kitchen. We spent the next 5 days getting things unpacked and put away and even looking for some furniture at some local antique and vintage stores...somehow this new place seems a little bigger than our place in California and we need a few pieces.

Just a few photos of our new abode...there are still more to come (mostly of the upstairs bedrooms) since I have a few more things to do up there. Looks a little better than the empty rooms from above at least!

We were left a pool table in the basement...so, Whit challenges me to a game of pool a few times a week...I'll be a pool shark before we know it

Other than getting the home put together, my days are mostly filled with errands, trying to get our cars registered and new MD licenses, exploring new areas, lots of cooking (tons of time to do it!), and of course looking for jobs. Fingers crossed that part doesn't take too long...

Oh and we had a fun St. Patty's Day in the city with friends this past weekend.
